The leaves were spectacular this fall. The garden at Sennyu temple was more beautiful and much less crowded than Tofukuji.

This is the view from my window on Kamanza Dori, looking south toward the Kyoto Tower. Before moving here I had thought of the Tower as an affront to Kyoto aesthetics, but I have grown to like it. Not much of traditional Kyoto is evident anyway from our ninth story perch. Japanese style is quite visible once we go down the elevator and step outside.
